PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, Weehawken Township requests qualifications for Landscape Design and Consultant Services in connection with Development of Phase II (South Park) of the Weehawken Waterfront Park in accordance the “fair and open process” pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.5, et seq.
400 Park AvenueWeehawken, New Jersey 07086 REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS Request for Qualification responses shall be received by the Weehawken Township Clerk, or her designee, on Wednesday, June 03, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., prevailing time, at 400 Park Avenue, Weehawken, New Jersey 07086, at which time said responses will be publicly opened and read. Responses must be enclosed in a sealed envelope. The service provider must indicate the following on the outside of the envelope: (1) the name and address of the service provider; (2) the service for which the response is submitted; and (3) “Request For Qualifications”. Responses may be delivered by hand, overnight courier or mail. The envelope containing the response must be received by the Township Clerk by the date and time set forth above. No late responses will be accepted. The proposer is solely responsible to ensure timely and proper delivery of its response. General description of the scope of required services: 1.Lead consultant to coordinate efforts of a team including an engineering firm and an environmental firm. 2.The project may be divided into two phases. The team would then prepare documents for the entire South Park into two separate bid packages or alternates. 3.Community outreach will be required. 4.The team will need to do geotechnical testing of the site. 5.The team should start with schematic design. 6.The team should be responsible for issuance of bid documents. 7.The team’s environmental firm will need to get final NJDEP approval for the waterfront walkway and park design. (We have preliminary approval) 8.The team will need to get new survey including: topographic survey, existing conditions survey, existing utilities surveys. 9.The team must include a fee for Construction Administration/Construction Supervision Proposals will be evaluated on the basis of the following factors: 1.Experience and reputation in the field. 2.Knowledge of Weehawken Township, and of matters concerning Weehawken Township, and of the subject matter to be addressed under the contract. 3.Availability to attend to any required Weehawken Township meetings and other matters. 4.Availability of personnel and other resources to provide such services. 5.Compensation proposal. 6.Other factors if demonstrated to be in the best interests of Weehawken Township.
